IDF Technology Drives Textile Waste Upcycling In India

Trützschler and Gimatex: A Partnership for Innovation

Since their collaboration began in 2006, Trützschler and Gimatex have successfully worked together on numerous projects. Gimatex Industries Pvt. Ltd., a family-owned company with over 125 years of history, has adopted Trützschler’s Integrated Draw Frame (IDF) technology to transform textile waste into valuable ring yarn.

Operating in Hinganghat, a key cotton-growing region in Vidarbha, and with a state-of-the-art processing unit in Dholka, Gimatex is committed to quality and sustainability. “Our clients demand consistent quality and competitive prices,” says Vineet Mohota, Director at Gimatex. “Trützschler’s latest technologies help us meet these demands, boosting quality, saving energy, and advancing sustainability.”

Efficiency and Innovation
Trützschler’s IDF technology is central to Gimatex’s operations. This technology allows for the production of high-quality yarn from a diverse range of raw materials, including cotton, polyester, recycled fibers, and blends. IDF’s direct spinning process shortens the spinning process by eliminating draw frame passages, reducing electricity use and space requirements. This efficiency results in lower costs and higher productivity without compromising quality.

Gimatex utilizes IDF for rotor and vortex spinning, and recently developed a specialized IDF process for producing traditional and recycled ring yarn. This process, used primarily for coarser yarns and recycling blends like cotton/spandex, involves a series of steps from blow room to ring frame.

Enduring Partnership
“The performance of Trützschler’s IDF machines is outstanding,” notes Mohota. “Their expert support and global best practices contribute significantly to our success.” The longstanding partnership between Gimatex and Trützschler continues to thrive, with IDF technology playing a key role in adapting to evolving market conditions and meeting high customer expectations.
