Welspun Living Partners With Avgol Industries To Drive Sustainability
Welspun Living, part of the Welspun Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Avgol Industries to advance sustainable solutions in the non-woven sector. Avgol, a global leader in high-performance spun-melt non-woven fabrics and part of the Indorama Ventures Group, will collaborate with Polymateria, a British technology company known for its biodegradable plastic alternatives.
The partnership will leverage Polymateria’s Biotransformation Technology to enhance sustainability. This technology enables non-woven fabrics, such as Avgol’s wipes, to break down into organic materials in the environment, addressing end-of-life challenges in plastic waste management.
Keyur Parekh, CEO Global Business at Welspun Living, commented, “Welspun is committed to setting new standards in sustainability. Partnering with Avgol allows us to deliver innovative, environmentally conscious solutions that cater to global consumer needs.”
Sivan Yedidsion, CEO of Avgol Industries, added, “Our collaboration introduces a groundbreaking technology developed over two years. We anticipate this will lead to more sustainable and innovative products, further diversifying our offerings in the wipes market.”
Richard Horne, India CEO and Global CCO of Polymateria, noted, “This partnership represents a significant advance in tackling end-of-life challenges for non-woven materials. It showcases how cutting-edge science can offer real-world environmental solutions and contributes to Polymateria’s goal of addressing a 100 million tonne per annum waste challenge.”
