Maharashtra CM Launches E-Textile System To Boost Textile Industry
Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launched an innovative e-textile system at Sahyadri Guest House on September 24th, 2024, aimed at strengthening the textile industry. Present at the event were Textiles Minister Chandrakant Patil, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Textiles Department Secretary Virendra Singh, and other key officials.
During the launch, CM Shinde highlighted the state’s newly announced integrated and sustainable textile policy. He emphasized the need to promote small textile enterprises and generate more employment opportunities through this initiative.
The e-textile system, redesigned for end-to-end process automation, is intended to simplify various schemes of the Department of Textiles. Developed by ICICI Bank, the system enhances accessibility and provides streamlined information about the department’s programs, ensuring ease of use for businesses. This was explained by Secretary Virendra Singh during his presentation.
