Textiles Recycling Expo Makes Landmark Debut In Brussels

The inaugural Textiles Recycling Expo, held on 4–5 June 2025 in Brussels, marked a significant milestone for the global textile recycling industry. The event brought together 126 exhibitors and 3,336 visitors from 67 countries, making it the largest gathering dedicated to textile recycling to date.
Attendees spanned the full value chain from waste management firms and recyclers to textile manufacturers and sustainability leaders from major fashion and retail brands including H&M, Nike, Zara, Chanel, Burberry, Patagonia, Uniqlo, Primark, and Ikea.
Aurel Ciobanu-Dordea, Director for Circular Economy at the European Commission, opened the event, highlighting the energy and cutting-edge technologies showcased. The event was widely praised on social media as a “breakthrough week for circular fashion.”
The expo featured live demonstrations from innovators like Valvan and NewRetex, alongside more than 50 expert speakers discussing regulatory updates, recycling innovations, and circular economy strategies.
Following its success, the next editions will be held in Charlotte, NC, USA (29–30 April 2026) and Brussels (24–25 June 2026). Demand is already high for both.
