Shivtek Invests Rs 50 Cr In Rajpura Plant, Signs MoU With Bodal
New Facility to Boost Green Chemical Manufacturing and Supply Chain Efficiency
Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, the flagship specialty chemicals arm of the Shiva Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bodal Chemicals Ltd to acquire an 8-acre land parcel in Rajpura, Punjab. The deal paves the way for a Rs 50 crore investment to set up a state-of-the-art green chemical manufacturing plant.
The new facility will be established adjacent to Bodal’s existing plant, enabling a direct chlorine pipeline supply and significantly enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability. This move is part of Shivtek’s broader plan to strengthen its presence in North and East India while aligning with its green chemistry and export-driven growth strategy.
“This partnership reflects a shared vision to build a future-ready, green chemical ecosystem,” said Dr. Amitt Nenwani, Managing Director, Shivtek Spechemi. “Rajpura is a strategic choice—it offers market proximity and seamless chlorine access, helping us cut costs, reduce emissions, and expand sustainably.”
The plant will manufacture chlorinated paraffin, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and green plasticizers—key inputs for plastics, rubber, and eco-friendly products. It will also incorporate solar energy, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, and full environmental compliance.
For Bodal Chemicals, the collaboration optimizes land use while ensuring a steady offtake of chlorine, a byproduct of its caustic soda operations. “This MoU is about synergy, not just land,” said Ankit Patel, Executive Director, Bodal Chemicals. “It supports safe, sustainable chlorine handling and enhances long-term growth.”
With operations expected to begin by late 2026 (Q4 FY27), the Rajpura plant will complement Shivtek’s existing hubs in Dahej (West) and Kurnool (South), strengthening its pan-India network and export capabilities. The project will also generate local employment across manufacturing and technical functions.
