TMAS To Showcase Next-Gen Textile Tech In Singapore

Therese Premler-Andersson, Secretary General of Textile Machinery Association of Sweden (TMAS)
Swedish textile machinery manufacturers are set to highlight cutting-edge automation and resource-saving technologies at the upcoming ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 exhibition in Singapore (October 28–31). Members of TMAS, the Swedish trade association, will present solutions that combine sensor-based automation, predictive maintenance, and AI-driven production to enhance efficiency and sustainability in textile manufacturing.
“Automation, AI, and digitalisation are no longer optional, they are now central to competitiveness,” said TMAS Secretary General Therese Premler-Andersson. “Our members are already deploying predictive maintenance and real-time quality monitoring solutions to help customers reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and operate more sustainably.”
One-Stop Automation Solutions
ACG Kinna Automatic (Hall 6, Stand D106) will spotlight its Complete Process – One Supplier model, which offers fully robotic pillow and duvet production lines covering everything from filling and sewing to quality control and packing. Its new Hector industrial sewing machine, already in use by IKEA and JYSK, will also be introduced. Hector’s adjustable sewing arm is designed for heavy-duty stitching of filled components like cushions and mattresses.

ACG Kinna Automatic has pioneered the development of complete robotic lines for the production of pillows and duvets.
Smarter Tension Control
Eltex (Hall 2, Stand C203) will unveil the upgraded EyE™ tension monitoring system with electromagnetic brakes and advanced sensors for automatic real-time adjustments. Its plug-and-play ACT-R unit, designed for rapier weaving machines, significantly reduces selvedge yarn waste and enhances consistency, particularly beneficial for mills working with recycled yarns.

The Eltex ACT-R significantly reduces the selvedge yarn waste from the weft insertion systems of rapier weaving machines.
Tubular Component Specialists
Svegea (Hall 6, Stand D109) will display its EC 50 and EC 200 collarette machines with E-Drive II, renowned across Asia for efficient, high-speed production of cuffs, collars, and neck tapes. The systems combine long life-cycle durability with energy efficiency and adaptable automation.
Weaving Innovation
Vandewiele Sweden AB (Hall 2, Stand D301e) will present its latest X4 yarn feeders with integrated displays and active tension control, designed for both new and retrofit weaving applications. The company is also strengthening its portfolio with IRO Gaugepart modules for tufting looms, enhancing carpet quality in terms of feel and structure.
Advanced Spray Technology
BW Converting (Hall 8, Stand B201) will highlight its successful TexCoat G4 spray finishing system, now widely adopted in Asia with 35 installations in the last two years. The company will also unveil a related new technology ahead of the Singapore show.
Industry Outlook
TMAS members emphasize that automation is becoming critical amid skilled labour shortages, rising costs, and new trade regulations. Modular solutions, digitalisation, and plug-and-play systems are enabling textile manufacturers to increase flexibility, reduce waste, and extend the lifecycle of existing machinery.
“Automation has shifted from being ‘nice to have’ to being indispensable,” said Tomas Aspenskog, Marketing and Sales Manager at ACG Kinna. “Simpler, resource-saving systems are now essential to surviving in today’s global textile market.”
The Singapore showcase highlights Sweden’s growing role in shaping next-generation textile production, with a focus on sustainability, traceability, and global competitiveness.
