Industry Leaders To Converge In Mumbai For TEXTILES 2030 Conference

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit has announced that it will host an international conference titled ‘TEXTILES 2030 – Navigating Geopolitics, Technology, Innovations and Global Expectations’ on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Hotel The Lalit, Mumbai.

The event is expected to bring together leading textile industry experts, sustainability strategists, technology providers and global stakeholders to examine how the sector will evolve in the coming decade amidst regulatory shifts, recycling innovations and geopolitical challenges.

According to the organisers, the conference will feature Roop Rashi (IA & AS), CEO, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Govt. of India, as the Chief Guest, while Murugan Thenkondar, President & Head – Marketing and Business Development (Fibre Marketing), Cellulosic Business, Grasim Industries Ltd., Aditya Birla Group, will serve as the Guest of Honour.

The Key Note Address will be delivered by Prashant Agarwal, Co. Founder & Jt. Managing Director, Wazir Advisors Pvt. Ltd., focusing on major industry transitions expected by 2030.

Two distinguished recognitions will also be presented during the event, including The Lifetime Achievement Award to Amrishbhai Patel, Chairman, Deesan Group of Companies, President SVKM, Chancellor NMIMS and The Industrial Excellence Award to Edward Menezes, Executive Chairman, Rossari Biotech Ltd and Sunil Chari, Managing Director, Rossari Biotech Ltd.

The day-long conference will cover a wide range of technical and strategic topics, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, circularity, ESG regulations, renewable energy and textile waste transformation. Among the speakers are Shyamlal Patnaik, Jt. President & Business Head – Specialty Products, Birla Cellulose, Grasim Industries Ltd., speaking on sustainability and fibre innovation; Mikhail Menezes, Director – Technical, Rossari Biotech Limited, addressing biosurfactants and next-generation sustainability and Nidhi Kaushik, Sr. Vice President (Treasury), Kotak Mahindra Bank, offering an international market and currency overview.

Presentations on recycling and engineering advancements will feature Sudipto Mandal and Shridhar Dhumal from Oerlikon Barmag, while B. Sankar, General Manager (Technical and Development), Perfect Engineering Corporation, will highlight machinery innovations enabling circular value from textile waste

The conference will also explore the integration of renewable energy through a session by Payal Kochar Shrimal, Channel Sales Manager, TATA Power Renewable Energy Ltd and delve into changing global compliance expectations, with Rahul Bhajekar, Managing Director, Global Standard gGmbH, Germany and Navodit Babel, Co-Founder and CTO, Green Story Europe B.V., Netherlands, discussing ESG-driven transformation in the textile value chain.

Dr. Leonie Vaas, General Manager – Sustainability, Hirdaramani Apparel, Sri Lanka, will further outline emerging regulatory frameworks and risk factors for apparel manufacturers.

A panel discussion on Women Leadership Driving a Change in Textile & Apparel Sector will feature prominent women leaders and entrepreneurs, moderated by Neha Gupta, Founder, International Fashion Business Exchange Council (IFBEC).
