CITI Welcomes New Export Promotion Measures

The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has welcomed the launch of seven additional interventions under the Export Promotion Mission announced by Piyush Goyal on February 20, 2026. The initiatives, introduced under the Niryat Protsahan and Niryat Disha programmes, aim to strengthen India’s export ecosystem and support exporters, particularly the MSME segment, in expanding their global footprint.
According to CITI, these forward-looking measures are expected to help MSMEs considered a key pillar of India’s economy become more resilient and globally competitive, while contributing to the government’s Viksit Bharat vision. The interventions launched under Niryat Protsahan include support for alternative trade instruments such as export factoring, credit assistance for e-commerce exporters, and support for emerging export opportunities.
In addition, four initiatives have been introduced under the Niryat Disha programme: TRACE (Trade Regulations, Accreditation & Compliance Enablement), FLOW (Facilitating Logistics, Overseas Warehousing & Fulfilment), LIFT (Logistics Interventions for Freight & Transport), and INSIGHT (Integrated Support for Trade Intelligence & Facilitation). CITI noted that these initiatives are expected to improve access to finance, strengthen logistics infrastructure, and provide exporters with better trade intelligence, enabling them to navigate global markets more effectively.
