BASF To Showcase Next-Gen Textile Innovations At Techtextil 2026

BASF is set to unveil a wide range of advanced and sustainable textile solutions at Techtextil 2026, taking place from April 21–24 at Messe Frankfurt. Located at booth B68 in Hall 11.0, the company will spotlight innovations designed to shape the future of textiles through circularity, performance and reduced environmental impact.

The exhibit will feature interactive applications across footwear, apparel, nonwovens and composites, offering visitors a hands-on look at BASF’s material capabilities.

A key highlight is Ultramid Ccycled, a mass-balanced polyamide that integrates recycled feedstock derived from hard-to-recycle plastic waste such as scrap tyres. The material maintains the same performance standards as conventional polyamide and is used in showcased products including outdoor apparel, sports shoes and climbing ropes.

Sustainability takes centrestage with Ultramid ZeroPCF, a polyamide 6 with a net-zero carbon footprint (cradle-to-gate), used in the TrailControl Zero 20+ bike backpack developed in collaboration with Vaude. Meanwhile, Ultramid BMB enables the use of biocircular raw materials, demonstrated through a jumpsuit created with Zara, reducing CO2 emissions by over 50% without compromising performance.

In nonwovens and composites, BASF will present advanced binder technologies such as Acronal and Styrofan, supporting applications in construction and automotive sectors. Its acForm binder enables the production of mouldable wood fibre mats for interior and furniture design, while Acrodur, a low-emission acrylic resin, features in lightweight composite solutions like filtration media and reinforcement materials.

The company will also introduce a new generation of elastic, microporous membranes developed with dimporia. Based on Elastollan TPU, the membranes combine waterproofness, breathability and stretch, offering improved comfort and design flexibility while remaining PFAS- and solvent-free.

Another major innovation is loopamid, BASF’s solution for recycling polyamide 6 textile waste into new fibres. Applications include a Zara jacket, an Adidas tracksuit developed under the T-Rex project, and T-shirts created in collaboration with Fulgar and Pompea.
