Ganga Expressway To Boost Textile Logistics And Industrial Growth In UP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 594-km Ganga Expressway, a major infrastructure project expected to significantly strengthen textile logistics and industrial expansion in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present.

The six-lane corridor, connecting Meerut to Prayagraj, will cut travel time by nearly half, enabling faster movement of textile raw materials and finished goods across key production and consumption centres.

The project goes beyond connectivity, with plans for 12 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters along the route. These clusters are expected to support textile manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain integration, with over Rs 47,000 crore in proposed investments.

Improved connectivity to major expressways and upcoming logistics hubs, including access to the Noida International Airport, is likely to reduce freight costs and turnaround time key challenges for textile exporters.

With better road infrastructure and industrial nodes, districts across the corridor are expected to emerge as new hubs for textile processing, garmenting, and distribution, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position in India’s textile value chain.
