India’s Textile Exports Rise 16.1% To Rs 29,700 Crore In August

India’s textile exports increased 16.1% year-on-year in August 2026, reaching more than Rs 29,700 crore, compared with over Rs 25,600 crore in August 2025, according to the Ministry of Textiles.

The ministry said the sector maintained its growth momentum during the first five months of the current financial year. Cumulative textile exports during April-August 2026 crossed Rs 1,40,000 crore, registering a 10.3% increase over the corresponding period of the previous year.

The Ministry of Textiles said sustained growth across major segments reflects the increasing competitiveness and diversification of India’s textile export basket.

The growth has been supported by improved market access, policy interventions and continued efforts to increase value addition and diversify export markets, the ministry added.

The latest export performance comes as India’s textile industry continues to focus on strengthening its position in global markets through higher-value products, wider market access and greater integration across the textile value chain.
