Heimtextil 2027 Puts Quality, Performance And Global Sourcing In Focus

Heimtextil 2027 will bring together around 2,900 exhibitors in Frankfurt from January 12–15, 2027, with new segments and expanded offerings focused on textile performance, product quality and reliable global sourcing. The exhibitor turnout is expected to remain at the previous edition’s level, reflecting the fair’s resilience amid challenging market conditions.
The forthcoming edition will introduce Carpets & Rugs Excellence, the Comfort & Connect area and the Functional Futures Lab, alongside the Heimtextil Trends 27/28. Its offering will span fibres and yarns, textile designs, finished collections, functional contract textiles and complete interior solutions.
With consumers paying closer attention to price, functionality and durability, and geopolitical uncertainty complicating supply chains, the fair will help buyers assess materials and identify manufacturers capable of consistently meeting quality and volume requirements.
“In a market that is increasingly difficult to predict, quality, reliability and strong personal relationships matter. At Heimtextil, trade visitors experience materials first-hand, discuss their requirements directly with manufacturers and find production partners capable of delivering the volumes they need. This combination of product experience, an international offering and personal exchange makes Heimtextil a reliable strategic partner for the industry – especially in a challenging market,” said Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies, Messe Frankfurt.
Curated by Milan-based design platform Alcova, the Heimtextil Trends 27/28 will explore the theme “Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living”. The presentation examines how interiors can offer greater functionality while making everyday life easier.
Three design directions will translate the theme into textile and surface applications. Staged Competence makes technical performance and durability visible through codes, numbers and micrographics. Inside, Out highlights construction through exposed seams, straps, zips and replaceable covers. Hyper Presence responds to digital overstimulation through natural fibres, textured surfaces, folds and patina.
Architect and designer Patricia Urquiola will integrate new works and further developments of existing ideas into the Trend Space, continuing her material exploration at Heimtextil.
The Carpets & Rugs offering will be reorganised around purchasing and distribution channels. Hall 3.0 will feature hand-knotted pieces, premium doormats and flooring solutions alongside broader interior concepts. Hall 3.1 will host companies including Oriental Weavers with EFCO and MAC, Ragolle Rugs, Balta Industries, Merinos, Verbatex and Welspun. Its proximity to Decorative & Furniture Fabrics will help buyers coordinate carpets and fabrics for complete projects.
Halls 11.0, 12.0 and 12.1 will serve the international volume carpet business. The new Carpets & Rugs Excellence segment in Hall 11.0 will feature manufacturers selected by an independent expert jury for product quality, workmanship and production expertise. Confirmed exhibitors include Bhadohi Carpets, Hafizia Arts & Crafts, Heritage Overseas and Jaipur Rugs.

Talks and guided tours will connect these developments with practical applications and relevant suppliers.
Textile Design in Hall 4.2 will bring together international studios presenting patterns, colours and concepts for home and contract textiles. The New Talent Area, curated with Jennifer Castoldi of Trendease, will return for its second year, with more than 30 emerging designers already confirmed.
Global Home will connect buyers with volume manufacturers, private-label suppliers and country pavilions for bed, bath, kitchen, window and decorative textiles.
