2024 Vietnamese Textile & Garment Export Target Set At $40bn
The Vietnamese textile and garment industry has set a target of exporting textiles and apparels amounting to US $44 billion for the next year.
This was informed by Vu Duc Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) at a press conference.
This ambitious target has been set in the background of textile and garment exports gathering steam in the last quarter of the current year
In the first ten months of the current year, Vietnamese textile and garment exports reached $27.67 billion, a year-on-year decline of 12.9 percent.
While in October, they totaled $2.566 billion in October 2023, down 5.04 percent year on year and a marginal 0.06 percent month-on-month.
According to Giang, Vietnam exported textile and clothing to 104 countries and regions in the current year, which include several nontraditional markets like Russia and countries of Africa.
