Ambika Cotton Mills to Install Solar Power Plant at Dindigul

Ambika Cotton Mills Ltd, a prominent textile manufacturer, has taken a major step towards renewable energy by finalizing plans to set up a solar power plant at its manufacturing plant in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. The proposed plant will have a capacity of 8.334 MW, installed over the rooftops, and will cater to the company’s captive consumption needs.

The ambitious project comes with an estimated cost of Rs. 39.08 crores, which Ambika Cotton Mills Ltd plans to fund through internal accruals, underlining their commitment to sustainability and green initiatives. The company has already submitted the application to the Government of Tamil Nadu to proceed with the project.

Once completed, the solar power plant is projected to generate an impressive 1.157 crore units of electricity annually. This move towards solar energy signifies the company’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and reliance on traditional power sources.
