The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) said the industry will meet target of US $100 billion by 2030, if the government supports industry post LDC graduation in 2026.

According to BGMEA President SM Mannan, the apparel industry seeks an alternative support by way of cash incentives after Bangladesh graduates from least developed country (LDC) status in 2026.

Mannan was paying homage to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at his mausoleum in Tungipara, Gopalganj along with other BGMEA members.

He pointed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s efforts towards financial stability and poverty alleviation and affirmed BGMEA’s commitment to ensuring a better life for every citizen.

The BGMEA President urged everyone to come forward to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’, that is a prosperous ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, as envisioned by the current Prime Minister.
