CITI-CDRA Partners With Beetle Regen To Boost Regenerative Cotton Farming
The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry’s (CITI) Cotton Development and Research Association (CDRA) has partnered with Beetle Regen Solutions to promote regenerative agriculture in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, reshaping Indian cotton farming. This collaboration aims to empower small-holder farmers with advanced agronomic practices to regenerate soil, increase cotton yields and ensure a sustainable future for agriculture.
Innovative Farming Techniques: The partnership introduces techniques such as high-density planting systems (HDPS), regenerative agriculture and biochar applications. These methods are designed to enhance cotton productivity, improve soil health and support global climate action by capturing carbon.
Key Highlights:
- Empowering Farmers: Farmers are equipped with HDPS and regenerative agriculture practices to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly cotton aligned with sustainable fashion goals.
- Restoring Soil and Combatting Climate Change: The use of biochar transforms farmland into carbon sinks, boosting soil carbon capture and contributing to climate solutions.
- Economic and Social Impact: The initiative improves cotton quality and yields, increasing farmers’ incomes and promoting social prosperity in cotton-growing regions.
“This partnership lays the foundation for a sustainable and transformative future in cotton farming, delivering better incomes for farmers while driving environmental regeneration,” said Rakesh Mehra, Chairman of CITI.
This initiative underscores a shared commitment to making cotton farming economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, positioning Indian cotton as a global leader in regenerative agriculture.
