Indian Textile Firms Willing To Purchase Kenya Based Rivatex
Indian companies are willing purchase the Kenyan government owned Rivatex East Africa Ltd if the government plans to privatise the textile mill
A TV news channel quoted the Indian Deputy High Commisioner in Kenya, Rohit Vadhwana as saying that there are a number of Indian textile companies who have shown interest in buying Rivatex.
Set up in 2007, Rivatex East Africa Limited is a vertically integrated textile factory that has production facilities from spinning to fabric processing and manufactures cotton based home textiles and garments.
The company has however been facing machinery and obsolete technology challenges which has hindered the exploitation of the potential opportunities that exist in the local and regional markets.
The company has taken various steps towards full revival despite the many challenges that it has faced on its way towards sustainable growth and profitability.
