Iranian Textile Industry Production Surges 17.1% in 2022

Production in Iran’s textile industry surged 17.1 percent in 2022 when compared to the previous year.

This was revealed by Mohsen Gorji, who is the Director General of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for Clothing and Textile Affairs.

He was addressing the media while announcing the first edition of the Specialized International Exhibition of Fabrics and Related Industries which will be held from September 9-12, 2023 in Tehran.

He also added that the number of existing production facilities which produce machine made carpets now stands at around 1,000 and whose exports have now reached $280 million.

Gorji emphasised that the country enjoys high capacity and capability in the production of high-quality hand woven as well as machine-made carpets.
