NITMA Delegation Meets Commerce Minister At Vanijya Bhawan

A delegation from the Northern India Textile Mills’ Association (NITMA) met the Hon’ble Minister for Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, and the Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada, on February 11, 2026, at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

Led by NITMA President Sidharth Khanna, the delegation included Vinayak Mittal of Aarti International Ltd., and Secretary General Pankaj Sharma.

During the interaction, the delegation expressed its gratitude to the ministers for the successful conclusion of the India–EU and India–US trade agreements, acknowledging their efforts in strengthening India’s global trade partnerships.

Despite the brief duration of the meeting, the delegation highlighted key industry concerns, including the removal of import duty on cotton and the need to ensure tariff parity for polyester staple fibre (PSF) and polyester spun yarn (PSY) under the revised India–ASEAN Free Trade Agreement.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the industry body to convey its perspectives on trade policy and sectoral competitiveness.
