Panda Biotech Launches Largest Hemp Processing Facility In Texas
Panda Biotech has launched commercial operations at the Panda Hemp Gin in Wichita Falls, Texas, marking a milestone in industrial hemp processing. The facility, spanning 500,000 square feet, is the largest in the western hemisphere and processes 10 metric tonnes of hemp per hour into textile-grade fibrer, hurd, short-fibre/hurd mix and nutrient-rich micronized hurd. Operating on 100% renewable energy, it sets a new standard for sustainability in the industry.
President Dixie Carter hails the facility as a game-changer, with potential to transform various industries with sustainable solutions. The Panda Hemp Gin will offer products like mechanically cottonized fibre, decorticated fibre, hurd, short-fibre/hurd mix and nutrient-rich micronized hemp dust, catering to diverse applications from textiles to bioplastics.
Chief Operating Officer Scott Evans emphasized the facility’s scale and efficiency, sourcing hemp directly from U.S. farmers and processing it into retail-ready products within minutes. Interested producers can participate in Panda’s pay-to-grow programme, contributing to sustainable agriculture and industrial innovation.
