PUMA Signs Long-Term Partnership With Portuguese Football Federation
PUMA has signed a long-term agreement with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), marking a significant milestone in the brand’s football strategy. Starting in 2025, PUMA will provide equipment for all male, female and youth teams, as well as the federation’s futsal, beach football and eSports teams.
Portugal, renowned for its captivating playing style and notable victories including the 2016 European Championship and 2018/19 Nations League, is one of the most popular national teams worldwide. With a massive global fan base and the largest number of social media followers among national football federations, the partnership with PUMA aligns with the brand’s goal of connecting with passionate fans and telling the unique stories of the teams they support.
Arne Freundt, CEO of PUMA, expressed excitement about the collaboration: “Signing a top-tier national team was one of our priorities, and we are thrilled to welcome Portugal to the PUMA family. With the potential of this squad and their global fan following, we look forward to exciting tournaments like the 2026 World Cup.”
This partnership also marks a return to Portuguese football for PUMA, which partnered with legendary player Eusébio in the 1960s to create the iconic PUMA KING football boot. Eusébio, a hero of the 1966 World Cup, was instrumental in Portugal’s third-place finish.
Fernando Gomes, President of the FPF, shared his enthusiasm: “We are excited to collaborate with PUMA, whose fan engagement and storytelling resonate with our global fan base. We look forward to creating a new product range that will inspire our supporters.”
PUMA will unveil the first products and its creative direction for the partnership in early 2025.
