SHIMA SEIKI Unveils Next-Generation Flat Knitting Solutions At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

Leading flat knitting solutions provider Shima Seiki Mfg. Ltd. will showcase its latest innovations at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore this October under the theme “Shima Seiki Reborn.” The concept embodies the company’s renewed commitment to innovation, brought to life through its R-generation knitting machines.

Visitors to the Shima Seiki booth will see the production version of the SES-R computerized knitting machine, based on the acclaimed prototype debuted at ITMA 2023 in Milan. Paying tribute to the legendary SES series, the SES-R introduces a new sinker system enabling advanced 3D shaping, while loop pressers and auto yarn carriers allow versatile manipulation of intarsia, i-Plating inverse plating, and inlay knitting. The 14-gauge model is designed for diverse industries including apparel, sports, interiors and industrial materials.

Marking the 30th anniversary of WholeGarment technology, first introduced in 1995, Shima Seiki will present the SWG-XR, a spiritual successor to the original SWG-X machine. With four needle beds and Shima Seiki’s SlideNeedle, the SWG-XR offers fine-gauge WholeGarment production with 25% higher productivity and a broader patterning range than the previous MACH2XS flagship. The machine will be displayed in 18L configuration with 15-gauge needles at 18-gauge pitch.

Beyond hardware, Shima Seiki will feature APEXFiz, a subscription-based design software, along with the SDS KnitPaint-online platform and other Shima Seiki online services. These digital solutions streamline design workflows and support sustainable production, complementing the company’s smart manufacturing ecosystem.

With its latest machines and comprehensive digital offerings, Shima Seiki will demonstrate speed, intelligence and sustainability in flat knitting, reinforcing its leading position in the global industry.
