Tamil Nadu MSME Spinning Mills Resume Production

Tamil Nadu based MSME spinning mills which had stopped production from July 10 have restarted production and sale of cotton yarn.

The South India Spinners Association (SISPA) and the India Spinning Mill Owners Association (ISMA) urged their members to resume production following a meeting with the state government ministers.

These two associations along with other spinning associations had discussions with the Tamil Minister of Finance and Electricity, Thangam Thenarasu, Minister of Textiles and Handlooms, R Gandhi, and MSME Minister TM Anbarasan.

All the associations submitted a joint memorandum to the ministers, who gave their assurance that they would raise the issue with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and also consider the proposal to provide relief for the industry.

“We hope that the state as well as central government will look in to our demands to help the Tamil Nadu spinning industry to survive and so we requested our members to restart production,” SISPA and ISMA said jointly in a press release.
