50 Textile Parks Sanctioned Under SITP, 1.23 Lakh Jobs Created

To boost investment, employment, and exports in the textile sector, the Ministry of Textiles has been implementing the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP), aimed at setting up world-class textile parks across India’s key textile hubs.
While the SITP was in operation until March 31, 2021, it has since been subsumed under the Textile Cluster Development Scheme (TCDS) for the completion of ongoing projects. The Ministry, through the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and the Office of the Textile Commissioner, regularly monitors approved projects to ensure adherence to physical and financial milestones, timelines, and quality standards.
Under SITP, 50 textile parks were sanctioned, including four in Andhra Pradesh. Of these, 30 parks have been completed, while 20 are under various stages of implementation. The Government of India has released Rs 1,532 crore towards the scheme, generating employment for 1.23 lakh people.
In addition, the Ministry has finalised locations for seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks in Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra (Amravati), with a total outlay of Rs 4,445 crore for seven years up to 2027–28.
