Shawmut Acquires Fairystone, Launches Shawmut Infinite

Shawmut LLC has announced the acquisition of long-time warp-knitting supplier Fairystone Fabrics through its newly formed affiliate, Shawmut Infinite. Operating out of Burlington, NC, Shawmut Infinite will serve as an independent supplier of contract knitting and warping services, maintaining Fairystone’s management team and workforce.

This asset purchase will allow Shawmut LLC to enhance control and cost efficiencies within its supply chain. Over the next 24 months, Shawmut Infinite will invest $8 million to upgrade the facility with advanced digital knitting, warping and fabric prototyping systems. These upgrades will position Shawmut Infinite as a leader in rapid iteration and mass production of automotive and industrial warp knits.
