Historic Brand Acquisition Brings German Textile Legacy To Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has welcomed its first internationally recognized foreign textile brand, marking a new chapter in the nation’s industrial evolution. Kamalak Shabnam Teks LLC, a domestic company based in the Bukhara region, has acquired the prestigious German brand Curt Bauer, known for its 140-year legacy and exports to over 40 countries.
The acquisition includes the full relocation of Curt Bauer’s assets to Uzbekistan, granting Kamalak Shabnam Teks exclusive rights to the brand within the country. This strategic move is part of a major investment project focused on producing high-quality technical and home textiles using polyester and polyamide—targeting key sectors such as automotive, defense, aviation, medical, and household applications.
The project is expected to create 785 new jobs and introduce cutting-edge German textile engineering to Uzbekistan, enhancing the country’s industrial capabilities and global export competitiveness.
Aligned with national priorities, this initiative supports Uzbekistan’s broader goals of fostering high-tech manufacturing, attracting foreign direct investment, and driving sustainable regional employment.
