Shaleen Toshniwal Takes Over As Chairman Of MATEXIL

Shaleen Toshniwal has taken over as the new Chairman of the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL), succeeding Bhadresh Dodhia. MATEXIL plays a pivotal role in promoting the export of fibre, yarn, fabric, made-ups (including home textiles), and technical textiles from India.
Toshniwal currently serves as the Joint Managing Director of Banswara Syntex, a leading player in the Indian textile industry. With over 23 years of experience in the textiles and apparel sector, he oversees the export operations of yarn, fabrics, and garments at Banswara Syntex.
Renowned for his deep product expertise across dyed synthetic spinning, woven and knitted fabric production, and garment manufacturing, Toshniwal brings a comprehensive understanding of the entire textile value chain to his new role.
In 2023, he ventured into the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) space by launching “One Mile”, a digital-first ready-to-wear apparel brand. Toshniwal holds a degree in Management from Bentley College, Waltham, USA.
Welcoming the new Chairman, outgoing Chairman Bhadresh Dodhia remarked, “His expertise, knowledge, vision, and guidance will certainly go a long way in boosting exports across the entire value chain of manmade fibre textiles and technical textiles.”
With this leadership transition, MATEXIL is poised to accelerate its efforts in enhancing India’s global competitiveness and export footprint in the fast-growing manmade and technical textiles sector.
