Shelton To Showcase Deep Learning AI At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025

UK-based Shelton Vision will unveil its latest machine vision inspection technology incorporating machine learning and deep learning AI at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore. The system achieves over 98% defect detection accuracy and up to 100% defect classification and grading accuracy, enabling precise identification of even the smallest faults in plain or patterned fabrics moving at industrial speeds.

Shelton will also introduce a stand-alone AI Classifier adaptable to third-party inspection systems, eliminating subjective manual decisions and improving throughput. Its optimised cut plan capability, driven by automated classification and grading outputs, enhances efficiency and ROI in fabric production plants.

“At the show, we will focus on the output data from our vision systems and how this can generate benefit for the whole value chain, including brand, by providing reliable fabric quality data immediately after inspection,” said CEO Mark Shelton. “This results in reduced lead times, fabric waste, and increased productivity, with applications expanding into outdoor upholstery and one-piece woven airbags alongside traditional camouflage printing.”

Shelton is among 20 British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA) members exhibiting in Singapore, showcasing innovations in high-performance fibres, fabrics, testing, and process control. BTMA CEO Jason Kent noted, “BTMA companies continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, and there will be much to talk about in Singapore.”

Founded in 1940, BTMA promotes UK textile machinery manufacturers globally, acting as a bridge between its members and the textile manufacturing sector.
