DyStar Reports Strong 2024–25 Sustainability Progress

DyStar, a global leader in specialty chemicals with over a century of expertise in product development and innovation, has released its 2024–2025 Integrated Sustainability Report, underscoring its commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and responsible growth.

The report highlights DyStar’s progress in optimizing its global manufacturing footprint while addressing the challenges of increased production volumes and facility realignments. Compared to its 2011 baseline, the company achieved significant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) milestones.

Key Environmental Achievements

  • GHG Emissions: Scope 1 and 2 emissions totalled 42.96 thousand tCO₂e, a 67% absolute reduction.
  • Wastewater: Intensity decreased to 7.64 m³ per ton of production, down 58%.
  • Energy Use: Energy intensity fell to 9.67 GJ per ton, a 3% reduction, supported by renewable energy adoption and efficiency programs.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Zero non-compliance cases reported; 45% of packaging materials recycled.

Social Impact

  • Diversity: Women now hold 31% of management roles.
  • Safety: Zero workplace fatalities or work-related ill health.
  • Community Support: Contributed USD 180,000 to community initiatives.

Governance Highlights

  • Compliance & Ethics: No reported cases of corruption, anti-competitive practices, or legal violations.
  • Data Privacy: Zero breaches or external complaints.
