‘Our Focus Is On Strengthening Sweden’s Position As A Hub Of Textile Machinery Innovation’

TMAS members look forward to strengthening relationships with long-term partners, meeting new customers and enhancing our visibility in one of the fastest growing textile regions in the world, says Therese Premler-Andersson

What key innovations or technologies will your members be showcasing at the event?
TMAS members will highlight advanced solutions for textile manufacturing, ranging from automated sewing and finishing systems from ACG Kinna Automatic and ES Automatex Solution to the state-of-the-art slitting, rolling and cutting equipment of Svegea. Other key technologies include advanced monitoring and yarn break detection systems manufactured by Eltex, Vandewiele Sweden’s tufting and carpet weaving machinery and innovative process technologies for sustainable finishing and converting from BW Converting. Together, these technologies put the emphasis on automation, efficiency, sustainability and quality.

Will there be any standout products or world premieres unveiled by your members?
We’re very excited about the launch of the new Texchroma digital spray dyeing system. It will be introduced to the market by BW Converting in Singapore and has been carefully developed in direct response to requests from Asian customers.

BW Converting’s Texcoat G3 spray finishing system has been highly successful in Asia in the past two years, with over 35 units installed. This technology can reduce water consumption by as much as 50% compared to traditional padding application processes, with significant savings in energy and raw materials as well.

The new Texchroma promises to revolutionise the dyeing sector with unique spray technology which radically reduces the use of chemicals and water, as well as energy consumption.

Are there any sectoral trends or developments that visitors should look out for at your members’ booths?
A major general trend will be towards automation and smart production for both reducing labour dependency and increasing productivity. This also encompasses real-time monitoring – a field in which our member Eltex excels. Sustainability and resource efficiency meanwhile remain as important as ever to the textile manufacturing supply chain.

With the show returning to Singapore after many years, what are your expectations in terms of networking, market reach and global exposure?
Singapore sits at the heart of the ASEAN region and is surrounded by major garment and textile manufacturing countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand. Textile and clothing exports from all of these countries have increased significantly since the end of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The current US import tariffs have thrown a lot of these countries into confusion this year so this exhibition will be a good opportunity to assess the impact.

It will attract a different demographic to the regular ITMA events in either China or Europe and we believe there are also major opportunities for our members to be involved in new projects in Central Asia, the region consisting of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. All of these countries have a long tradition of cotton cultivation and are now readily investing in new technologies.

Let’s not forget the Middle East too. Egypt is currently a hotbed for investment projects, while Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are all looking to expand, as well as attract investment in new ventures by offering a broad range of incentives.

Singapore is the perfect regional hub for enabling our members to broaden their market exposure and strengthen networks across multiple fast-growing markets.

TMAS members look forward to strengthening relationships with long-term partners, meeting new customers and enhancing our visibility in one of the fastest growing textile regions in the world.

Is your association planning any dedicated activities, presentations or networking opportunities during the exhibition?
TMAS will support joint visibility of its members, provide networking opportunities and actively connect Swedish exhibitors with international industry stakeholders. In addition, we are exploring opportunities for joint promotional activities highlighting Swedish innovation.

How is your association supporting and promoting your members’ participation in the 2025 edition?
We are promoting our members’ participation through international press releases, digital campaigns and direct outreach under the TMAS umbrella. Our focus is on strengthening Sweden’s position as a hub of textile machinery innovation and ensuring strong visibility for each participating company.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your association’s presence at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025?
At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, TMAS members will continue a long tradition of offering forward-looking solutions that combine efficiency, sustainability and digital excellence. We warmly invite visitors to meet our members and discover how Swedish technology can empower the textile industry of tomorrow.
