Testtex India Has Continuously Expanded Testing Capabilities To Align With Evolving Global Regulations: Kunal Shingala

Kunal Shingala highlighted the company’s extensive testing, inspection and certification services at Bharat Tex 2025, with a strong focus on quality assurance across the entire textile value chain.

At Bharat Tex 2025, Testtex India Laboratories showcased its expertise in testing, inspection and certification for the entire textile value chain. From yarns and fabrics to finished garments, accessories, packaging materials and even organic cotton and leather footwear, the company ensures quality compliance at every stage.

“We are here to inspect textiles for physical, mechanical and restricted substances (RSL) testing. Additionally, we provide inspection services to manufacturers, ensuring their batch production aligns with buyer requirements,” says Shingala.

A unique aspect of Testtex India’s presence at Bharat Tex is the Knowledge Zone – a space designed to raise awareness among visitors about various textile testing methods. “Many industry professionals and manufacturers are still unaware of the range of testing that can be done. We’ve set up a small demonstration area where we conduct fibre identification tests and provide practical knowledge on quality control,” Shingala explained.

When it comes to dyes and chemicals, Testtex India plays a critical role in identifying and eliminating harmful substances from the supply chain. “Dyes and chemicals arrive in concentrated forms, making it crucial to detect and eliminate any harmful chemicals before they reach the final product,” Shingala notes.

Apart from quality assurance, one of the key problems manufacturers face is defect identification. Many garment producers struggle with defects that appear after just a few washes, often due to inconsistencies in raw materials or processing methods. “Manufacturers source materials from different suppliers and often do not know where a defect originates. We conduct defect analysis by testing both raw materials and final products to identify the root cause of quality issues,” he explains.

Similarly, in the chemical sector, Testtex India has been assisting manufacturers in identifying the presence of hazardous chemicals such as Alkylphenol Ethoxylates (APOs) and Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPOs), which should not be present in today’s supply chains. “We analyze ingredient lists, inspect formulations and conduct chemical hazard audits at manufacturing units to detect the source of contamination,” says Shingala.

Testtex India prides itself on innovation and staying ahead of regulatory changes. “We continuously expand our testing capabilities to align with evolving global regulations. If a new compliance requirement is on the horizon, we proactively develop the necessary testing facilities so that we’re ready when the industry needs it,” Shingala states.

A strong R&D and technical team enables the company to provide in-house testing solutions, ensuring quality and reliability for clients across India and international markets.

Bharat Tex has provided Testtex India with a significant opportunity to engage with clients and industry leaders. “Bharat Tex has been fantastic for us. We’ve met long-time clients face-to-face, strengthened relationships, and even connected with key dignitaries from the textile industry,” says Shingala.

The Knowledge Zone has particularly attracted interest from students, reflecting a growing curiosity about quality control in textiles. “If we can educate young professionals early in their careers, they will carry that knowledge forward and elevate industry standards,” he adds.

Testtex India has also witnessed strong interest from international visitors, particularly from Korea and Taiwan, as well as clients from across India. Notably, representatives from West Bengal’s textile industry have expressed keen interest in enhancing testing infrastructure in the region. “There is a growing textile ecosystem in Kolkata, and discussions are underway about setting up a testing lab there to support manufacturers,” Shingala reveals.

With a robust presence at Bharat Tex 2025, Testtex India continues to reinforce its commitment to quality assurance and compliance, ensuring that Indian textiles meet the highest global standards.
