Selenis Launches Texnascis, Driving Textile-To-Textile Recycling For A Circular Future

Selenis, a global leader in specialty polyesters, has announced the launch of Texnascis, its new brand dedicated to textile-to-textile recycling. Texnascis will serve as the company’s platform to advance its mission of transforming textile waste into innovative, reusable products, accelerating the shift toward a circular textile economy.

Building on its decades of expertise in polymerization for specialty fibres, Selenis identified textile waste as a pressing industry challenge in 2022. Since then, the company has focused its innovation and production resources to address it, with facilities in the US and a new site in Italy, reinforcing its leadership in textile circularity.

Duarte Matos Gil, CEO of Selenis, said: “The launch of Texnascis is a natural step forward as we build momentum in textile-to-textile recycling. We believe every garment should be reborn as another garment, not wasted. Achieving this vision globally requires both innovation and forward-looking legislation, and Texnascis will be at the forefront of this movement.”

Eduardo Santos, Global Head of Corporate Strategy at Selenis, added: “True sustainability means connecting the entire value chain. We work with partners to scale from pilot to industrial levels and enhance recycled monomers, providing our customers with a reliable, high-quality foundation for scalable production from recycled feedstock to finished products.”

Texnascis envisions a future where every polyester fibre is reborn, transforming used clothing and textile waste into high-quality products. This approach moves the industry beyond the traditional linear “take, make, waste” model toward a truly circular system, giving every fibre a second life and creating a sustainable, infinite textile lifecycle.
