Genutrace, Refiberd Partner To Launch AI-Driven Forensic Traceability For Textiles

Forensic supply chain verifier GenuTrace and AI-driven textile sorting startup Refiberd have entered into a strategic collaboration to launch a dual-layer validation system for the textile industry.
The system combines AI-enabled hyperspectral imaging from Refiberd with GenuTrace’s stable isotope analysis, enabling brands to verify both fibre composition and geographic origin before fabric production begins.
“In a market where recycled and conventional fibres overlap, supply chain integrity is more critical than ever. Our approach ensures sustainability claims are backed by science,” said MeiLin Wan, founder & CEO of GenuTrace.
Refiberd’s technology classifies fibres, yarns and fabrics by spectral fingerprints, while GenuTrace’s isotope testing confirms the true source of cotton. Together, they provide a “trace it before you make it” system that enhances transparency across global textile supply chains.
Refiberd, named Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year in 2025 and winner of the Global Fashion Agenda Trailblazer Programme, said the collaboration sets the foundation for scaling AI-powered recycling solutions. “To manufacture effectively, you must know your fibres first,” said Sarika Bajaj, founder & CEO of Refiberd.
The partnership aims to boost circularity by validating virgin and recycled materials, including PET and nylon, ensuring quality, efficiency and credibility in textile manufacturing.
