Nine Firms Eye Textile Units In Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is poised to secure fresh investments in its textile sector, with nine companies expressing interest in setting up new manufacturing units in the state. Handloom and Textiles Minister S. Savitha said that the government will sign MoUs with these firms during the Partnership Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.
The Minister reviewed the investment proposals at the Secretariat with company representatives, including five who joined via video conference. The interested firms have proposed projects in mattress manufacturing, garment and apparel production, and polyester fabric weaving, with a strong preference for locations in the Rayalaseema region.
Savitha said that the specific industrial sites will be finalized during the summit. She added that the new textile policy introduced by the coalition government has boosted investor confidence and positioned the state as an emerging hub for textile manufacturing.
The Minister highlighted that the government aims to develop the textile sector as a key driver of employment and industrial growth. She said investor interest has been encouraged by simplified clearances, improved infrastructure support, and targeted incentives, which have created a business-friendly environment for textile enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.
