Stäubli Expands Into Africa With Techno Nord Acquisition

Stäubli has finalized its acquisition of Techno Nord, a leading Jacquard heddle manufacturer based in Bizerte, Tunisia, marking the company’s first operational presence in Africa. The move strengthens Stäubli’s position in the global Jacquard segment by enhancing its harness manufacturing capabilities and boosting competitiveness in the mid-range market.
The acquisition follows more than two decades of collaboration between the two companies, with Techno Nord long serving as a key supplier to Stäubli’s textile division. By integrating heddle production, an essential component of Jacquard harnesses, Stäubli aims to secure long-term quality, performance, and innovation across its product offerings.
The new entity will operate as Stäubli Bizerte. Group CEO Gerald Vogt welcomed the expansion as a strategic milestone aligned with Stäubli’s global growth plan. Textile Executive President Bertrand Leroy emphasized the significance of incorporating a trusted partner to reinforce the company’s leadership in textile machinery.
With this step, Stäubli signals its commitment to sustainable international growth and deeper engagement in emerging markets.
