Samsara Eco, EOG Collaborate To Accelerate Circular Nylon

Australian biotech company Samsara Eco and the European Outdoor Group (EOG) have announced the launch of the Nylon Materials Collective, a new industry-wide collaboration aimed at making high-performance, virgin-identical recycled nylon widely accessible to outdoor brands.

The initiative is designed to break down long-standing barriers to adopting recycled materials and speed up the sector’s transition toward a fully circular textiles ecosystem.

Nylon remains a core material for outdoor brands due to its durability, strength and ability to perform in extreme conditions. Through the Collective, brands will gain access to recycled nylon via pooled demand and shared supply chain partnerships, reducing logistical hurdles, lowering adoption costs and enabling even smaller companies to integrate circular materials into their product lines.

Samsara Eco’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sarah Cook, said the collaboration reflects the outdoor industry’s inherent commitment to protecting the planet. “The Nylon Materials Collective will make it easier for brands of any size to access our virgin-identical recycled materials and seamlessly integrate them into future product lines,” she said.

Samsara Eco’s enzymatic recycling technology, EosEco, produces recycled nylon 6,6 with the same performance as virgin fibre, helping brands maintain product durability while meeting sustainability targets and preparing for future EU circularity regulations.

For EOG, representing around 150 brands, retailers and supply chain organisations, the initiative taps into the power of collective influence. Dr. Katy Stevens, Head of Sustainability and CSR at the EOG, said the partnership gives members a straightforward pathway to access next-generation recycled nylon.

“By pooling demand and expertise, we’re enabling brands of all sizes to integrate high-performance recycled materials and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable outdoor industry,” she noted.

The Nylon Materials Collective is open to all EOG members and will officially launch ahead of ISPO Munich 2025, where Samsara Eco will showcase its latest recycled nylon material samples.
