Northshore Apparel Selects Coats Digital For Ghana Hub

Northshore Apparel Ghana Ltd has selected the full suite of solutions from Coats Digital to build the digital backbone of its upcoming sustainable manufacturing hub in northern Ghana.

Backed by the Ghanaian and German governments, the start-up is developing a zero-waste, state-of-the-art facility on reclaimed land, positioning it as the region’s first regenerative apparel manufacturing ecosystem. The plant will focus on knitted and woven garments, including T-shirts, polos, sportswear and childrenswear, catering to global fashion brands.

At the core of its operations will be Coats Digital’s GSDCost, FastReactPlan and FastReactFabric platforms, enabling precise costing, efficient production planning and optimized fabric utilization. The integrated system is designed to eliminate data silos, enhance real-time decision-making and support a shift toward proactive, margin-controlled manufacturing.

The project is also aimed at driving socio-economic impact by addressing unemployment in Northern Ghana and reducing migration pressures. The 50-acre campus is expected to employ over 2,000 workers initially, with plans to scale significantly. It will offer fair wages, training programmes, healthcare, childcare and sustainable infrastructure, including solar energy and water recycling systems.

Northshore Apparel said the investment in digitalization is central to ensuring transparency, operational efficiency and ethical production standards, while strengthening its competitiveness in global markets.

With a fully integrated digital ecosystem and strong sustainability focus, the initiative sets a new benchmark for responsible and scalable apparel manufacturing in Africa.
