Karl Mayer Strengthens Composites Industry Partnerships At JEC World 2026

Karl Mayer reinforced its position as a key partner to the composites industry at JEC World 2026, using the platform to engage with customers, build new connections and conduct in-depth technical discussions.
Amid a challenging global business environment, marked by uncertainty and cautious investment sentiment, particularly in Western markets, the event highlighted both pressures and emerging opportunities. Strong participation from countries such as the U.S., Turkey and China underscored intensifying competition across the composites value chain.
“More than ever, our customers are looking for new application areas to secure their position. In discussions with them, we were able to highlight numerous new perspectives. There were some very engaging conversations, particularly regarding the pultrusion profiles at our booth,” said Hagen Lotzmann, President of the Karl Mayer Business Unit Technical Textiles.
A major highlight was the innovative use of non-crimp fabrics produced on multiaxial warp knitting machines for pultrusion applications. These advanced profiles, featuring complex chamber structures, drew strong interest for applications such as corrosion-resistant solar panel frames and structural components in construction.
The company also observed growing interest in carbon composite applications, particularly in mobility and transportation. From automotive components such as battery housings and underfloor structures to emerging uses in drone manufacturing, carbon composites are gaining traction.
Karl Mayer also highlighted its COP MAX 5 machine as a proven solution for producing reinforcements for high-performance composite components, supporting the industry’s shift toward lightweight, durable materials.
