Kornit Digital Expands Into Footwear, Technical Textiles With Presto MAX PLUS

Kornit Digital has unveiled the Kornit Presto MAX PLUS, a next-generation roll-to-roll system designed to expand digital production into footwear, technical textiles and other high-performance applications. The system made its debut at Texprocess 2026 in Frankfurt.

Building on the proven Presto MAX platform, the new system enables single-step, on-demand digital production with minimal setup and no minimum order requirements. It supports a wide range of fabrics while offering water-free printing with no pre- or post-washing, significantly reducing waste, energy use, and environmental impact. At its core, Kornit MAX technology delivers high retail-quality output with a superior hand feel.

Presto MAX PLUS introduced DuraTech, a durability enhancement technology engineered to withstand wear, flex and abrasion—making it suitable for demanding applications such as footwear uppers, automotive interiors, performance sportswear and technical textiles.

The system also features patent-pending Precise Overprint technology, which compensates for material variability to ensure accurate image placement on complex and dimensionally unstable fabrics, including pre-knitted substrates.

These capabilities are already being validated by footwear manufacturers. The system supports the digital application of functional inks, enabling customizable performance features such as abrasion resistance, compression and protection.

“Digital production is entering a new phase of industrial adoption, expanding into high-performance categories that demand durability, precision and consistency at scale,” said Ronen Samuel, CEO of Kornit Digital. “Presto MAX PLUS pushes the boundaries of digital manufacturing, enabling brands to unlock new applications, enhance agility and accelerate the shift toward sustainable production.”

Additional features include white ink printing on dyed fabrics, expanded colour gamuts with red/green and neon inks, and Kornit’s XDi technology for 3D effects. The system is equipped with QualiSet automation for hands-free calibration, ensuring consistent and repeatable output across production environments.
