CCIC Unveils Soul Threads To Showcase India’s Artisanal Heritage

The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC), under the Ministry of Textiles, has marked a key milestone in its revival journey with the launch of its inaugural heritage designer collection, Soul Threads.

The exclusive exhibition is being held from April 24 to May 10, 2026, at CCIC’s flagship showroom in Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, New Delhi. The showcase features a curated selection of India’s finest artisanal offerings, including sarees, bespoke designer wear, handcrafted jewellery and home furnishings.

The exhibition was inaugurated on April 24 by Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary (Textiles), in the presence of senior dignitaries such as Rohit Kansal, M. Beena, Amrit Raj, Akhilesh Kumar and Rajiv Ashok, along with other officials from the Ministry of Textiles.

The inaugural evening featured a preview of the collection, followed by a fashion show that brought the Heritage Designer Collection to life. Rooted in India’s rich textile traditions, the collection reinterprets indigenous crafts through a contemporary design lens. The event also included cultural performances by folk artists, celebrating the country’s diverse artistic heritage.

Through Soul Threads, CCIC aims to provide a prestigious platform for designers and artisans, while reinforcing its commitment to preserving and promoting India’s traditional textile and craft legacy.
