Santini Launches Aero Race Jersey With Polartec Recycled Carbon Fabric

Italian cycling apparel specialist Santini Cycling Wear has partnered with Polartec to introduce the AERO RACE jersey, a high-performance garment engineered for competitive cyclists and triathletes, combining advanced aerodynamics with next-generation sustainable material innovation.
At the core of the launch is Polartec Power Dry with Recycled Carbon, a breakthrough moisture-management fabric developed using captured industrial carbon emissions. By repurposing CO₂ before it is released into the atmosphere, the fabric represents a significant step toward reducing the environmental impact of high-performance sportswear without compromising on functionality.
Designed for intense riding conditions, the fabric features a proprietary bi-component knit construction that actively wicks moisture away from the skin and disperses it across the outer surface for rapid evaporation. This ensures enhanced breathability, dryness and comfort during high-output efforts, from steep climbs to sustained high-speed riding.
In addition to performance benefits, the material delivers measurable sustainability gains. According to the company, the use of Polartec Power Dry with Recycled Carbon enables a reduction in carbon emissions of up to 66% compared to equivalent jerseys made from virgin polyester.
The AERO RACE jersey itself has been developed with a strong focus on aerodynamic efficiency. Wind tunnel testing has informed its second-skin fit, engineered to minimise drag and optimise rider performance. Strategic paneling and streamlined construction further enhance airflow and reduce friction, while a full elastic hem with silicone grip ensures stability and precision fit during intense movement.
By integrating advanced textile engineering with sustainability-focused innovation, the new jersey reflects a broader shift within the performance apparel segment, where speed, comfort and environmental responsibility are increasingly expected to coexist.
With this launch, Santini and Polartec reinforce their commitment to pushing the boundaries of both technical performance and sustainable material development in the global sportswear market.
