KARL MAYER Expands RDJ Series With New E 32-Gauge Machine

KARL MAYER has expanded its RDJ range of highly flexible double needle bar raschel machines with the new RDJ 6/2 in E 32 gauge, offering enhanced design possibilities, fine structures and high comfort for high-performance sports and casual footwear.
Spacer fabrics produced on double needle bar raschel machines with Jacquard technology are increasingly being used in footwear, where aesthetics, breathability and comfort are key requirements. The RDJ 6/2 enables manufacturers to create attractive designs with integrated multifunctional zones on one or both fabric surfaces, including breathable mesh structures.
Fine Gauge for Refined Designs
The new E 32 gauge allows spacer textiles to be produced with an exceptionally soft hand feel, fine and dense structures, and smooth, uniform surfaces. The finer gauge also delivers sharper pattern contours and more clearly defined motifs, resulting in a refined overall appearance.
The machine features two wirelessly controlled Jacquard guide bars, enabling complex patterning, two-colour designs, additional design effects, and both equal-lap and counter-lap patterning. Counter-lap technology can create breathable pore zones with nearly round openings, as well as surfaces with greater structural variety.
From lightweight and thin constructions to bold designs with pronounced pattern effects, the machine offers a wide range of possibilities. An EL pattern drive further enables quick pattern changes.
High Productivity and Ease of Operation
Alongside its design flexibility, the RDJ 6/2 is designed for high production speeds, consistent fabric quality and reliable operation, making it suitable for high-volume manufacturing.
The machine also focuses on ease of operation and reduced personnel requirements. Its wireless Jacquard control system simplifies yarn threading while improving accessibility and visibility during operation.
Specially developed trick plates for the fine gauge make fabric-thickness adjustment convenient. Fabric spacing can be adjusted between 2 and 5 mm, providing additional flexibility for different footwear applications.

The RDJ 6/2 in E 32 is available with a working width of 138 inches.
KARL MAYER will showcase its latest innovations at ITMA ASIA in Shanghai, with its warp knitting solutions on display in Hall 4.1/C18 and warp preparation technologies in Hall 3/A24.
