Rajasthan Approves New Industrial Policy To Boost Talent-Driven Growth

The Rajasthan Cabinet has approved a new industrial development policy aimed at strengthening the State’s industrial ecosystem through a sharper focus on the talent economy, advanced manufacturing and private sector participation.
The policy, approved during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, seeks to build world-class industrial infrastructure while driving Rajasthan’s economic growth to US$ 350 billion by 2028–29.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Industries and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the new framework will offer incentives for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), support the One District One Product initiative, and enhance the State’s export competitiveness.
A key focus of the policy is the promotion of technology-intensive sectors such as semiconductors, data centres, global capacity centres and defence manufacturing, reflecting Rajasthan’s push to position itself as a hub for next-generation industries.
The policy will also continue to support traditional high-growth sectors including textiles, gems and jewellery, tourism, handicrafts, agro-processing, dairy, and logistics, while emphasizing research and development and technology transfer to strengthen indigenous production.
For the textile sector, the move is expected to create fresh opportunities through improved industrial infrastructure, greater investment support and stronger integration with export-focused growth strategies.
Alongside the industrial policy, the Cabinet also approved measures related to renewable energy, water conservation, and pension reforms, highlighting a broader agenda focused on sustainable development and infrastructure resilience.
The announcement signals Rajasthan’s intent to combine industrial expansion with innovation-led growth as it accelerates efforts to attract investment across both emerging and traditional sectors.
