Alok Mishra Appointed Co-Chair Of ASSOCHAM Maharashtra Sustainability Sector

ASSOCHAM has appointed Alok Mishra, President and Group Head – Sustainability at Welspun World, as Co-Chair of the Sustainability Sector under its Maharashtra State Council.

With over 25 years of experience in sustainability, environment and ESG management across industries including textiles, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, steel, infrastructure and agribusiness, Mishra brings extensive expertise in driving sustainability transformation and responsible business practices.

At Welspun World, he leads enterprise-wide sustainability and ESG integration initiatives. Under his leadership, Welspun Living was ranked No. 1 globally in the Textile, Apparel & Luxury Goods category of the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2025, achieving the highest score in the sector.

Prior to Welspun, Mishra held key sustainability leadership roles at Export Trading Group (ETG), Reliance Industries, Piramal Enterprises and Essar Group. His experience spans climate strategy, carbon accounting, sustainable supply chains, ESG reporting and environmental compliance across global operations.

His appointment is expected to strengthen ASSOCHAM’s sustainability agenda and support greater adoption of ESG and responsible business practices across industries in Maharashtra.
