Century Enka Signs PPA For 9.9 MW Hybrid Power Project
Century Enka Ltd. has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ABREL Century Energy Ltd. (ABRELCEL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV), for the development of a 9.9 MW wind-solar hybrid power project aimed at meeting its captive power requirements.
Under the agreement, the renewable energy generated from the project will be supplied exclusively to Century Enka’s manufacturing facility located in Bhosari, Pune, Maharashtra, in accordance with the captive consumption provisions under India’s electricity regulations.
To qualify as a captive user under the Electricity Act, 2003 and the Electricity Rules, 2005, Century Enka will hold at least 26% equity ownership in the power-producing entity. The hybrid renewable energy project will be developed, operated, and maintained by ABRELCEL.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned by June 30, 2026, with a provision for a three-month grace period. Once operational, the facility is expected to support Century Enka’s sustainability objectives by increasing its reliance on renewable energy and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
