CMAI Highlights India’s Apparel Strength And Global Ambitions At Bharat Tex 2026

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) concluded its participation at Bharat Tex 2026, showcasing India’s growing strength as a global apparel manufacturing and sourcing destination.

As a partner of Bharat Tex since its inception, CMAI facilitated the participation of more than 100 exhibitors across apparel, textiles, brands and sustainability initiatives. Its Brands of India Pavilion featured over 70 leading Indian apparel brands, including a dedicated Innerwear & Sleepwear Pavilion, showcasing the growth and diversity of India’s branded apparel industry.

CMAI also collaborated with the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS) to curate the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, which featured sustainability initiatives, technology demonstrations, product launches, industry discussions and strategic partnerships across the textile value chain.

A key highlight was the launch of the India Textiles & Apparel CXO Blueprint 2030, jointly developed by CMAI and GATS and released by Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh. The report presents a roadmap for strengthening India’s global competitiveness through sustainability, traceability, innovation and technology-led manufacturing.

CMAI also hosted and supported several high-level industry discussions focused on Indian brands, retail growth, sustainable manufacturing and global competitiveness.

A roundtable titled ‘Indian Brands, Global Ambitions: Redefining Retail Growth Beyond Borders’, hosted by Deloitte and supported by CMAI, brought together policymakers, industry leaders and designers to discuss the international expansion of Indian brands.

CMAI also hosted the panel discussion ‘Brands of a Billion: The Great Indian Retail Revolution’ in association with the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), bringing together leaders from major Indian and international apparel and retail brands.

The association further hosted the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and organised international leadership sessions in partnership with IAF and Gherzi Consulting.

The Apparel Manufacturing Leadership Session featured global industry leaders and representatives from the international apparel ecosystem, highlighting India’s growing role in shaping the future of global apparel manufacturing.

Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, said Bharat Tex had become an important platform for showcasing the strength and aspirations of India’s apparel industry.

“The scale and diversity of participation witnessed across CMAI’s initiatives at Bharat Tex 2026 reflect the maturity of India’s apparel industry and its readiness for the next phase of global growth,” said Naveen Sainani, Chairman – ESG Committee and Honorary General Secretary, CMAI.

Through its participation, CMAI said it continues to support initiatives aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, resilience, innovation and global growth of India’s apparel sector.
