IMSC Reviews Pending ATUFS Cases To Support Textile Industry

The 13th meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee (IMSC) was held on August 25, 2026, to discuss and finalise pending cases under the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS).
The meeting was chaired by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, and focused on expediting the resolution of pending ATUFS cases to facilitate timely support to the textile industry.
Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), attended the meeting along with Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Textiles; Aarti Kanwar, Additional Secretary, Textiles; Vrunda Manohar Desai, Textile Commissioner, senior officials from the Department of Financial Services and other key stakeholders.
The deliberations centred on the examination and finalisation of pending cases under ATUFS, a scheme aimed at encouraging investment in modern textile machinery and technology. The timely processing of these cases is expected to support textile units in technology upgradation and enhance their productivity and competitiveness.
The meeting underlined the government’s continued focus on facilitating technology adoption within the textile sector and strengthening its competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
The finalisation of pending ATUFS cases is expected to provide greater clarity and support to eligible textile industry stakeholders while contributing to the sector’s broader objectives of modernisation, productivity enhancement and sustainable growth.
