A Place To Grow: Brandix Opens Its Apparel Ecosystem To New Partners

In an exclusive conversation with Henry Dsouza, Associate Editor of Textile Insights, Sadiq Omar shares his perspective on the evolution of Brandix India Apparel City and its growing opportunity for Indian manufacturers.

For Sadiq Omar, the strength of Brandix India Apparel City lies in its ability to offer manufacturers more than just factory space.

“It is Brandix’s vision of an integrated apparel ecosystem, where partners across the value chain operate from one place. The vision is simple: we bring fibre in and ship finished garments out,” he says.

The concept, he believes, is built around creating an environment where companies can enter an established industrial ecosystem and focus on their core manufacturing operations.

“A partner who wants to set up has a plug-and-play solution ready to go,” Omar says, pointing to the infrastructure and support systems available within the park.

However, his larger message is directed towards Indian manufacturers looking for opportunities to expand.

Brandix Apparel City was initially developed with a strong export focus. With the development of a Domestic Tariff Area, the ecosystem is now also positioned to support companies looking to serve the Indian market.

“I would encourage manufacturers to come and re-look at what Brandix has to offer and join our ecosystem because we now have the capability to also service the local market,” he says.

For Omar, the evolution of Brandix Apparel City also reflects the growing importance of integrated textile ecosystems in India. The concept was developed by Brandix nearly two decades ago, while the Government of India’s PM MITRA initiative has now placed similar integrated textile parks at the centre of India’s textile growth strategy.

“Brandix believed in this vision of an integrated ecosystem 20 years ago. Now we have seen the Government of India drive that vision forward with PM MITRA, which is a testament to the concept,” he says.

His message to potential investors is straightforward: “Come, partner with us, see what is on offer and become part of our ecosystem.”

For Brandix Apparel City, the next phase is about opening the ecosystem to more partners and creating opportunities for companies that want to grow within an established apparel manufacturing environment.
