Textiles Secretary Holds Talks With European, French Industry Representatives In Paris

Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Neelam Shami Rao, held discussions with leading representatives of the European and French textile, apparel and fashion industries in Paris, focusing on strengthening partnerships and expanding cooperation across the textile value chain.

The discussions, held at Le Bourget, focused on strengthening India-France and India-European Union cooperation in textiles by leveraging India’s rich textile heritage and globally competitive manufacturing capabilities, the Ministry of Textiles said in a social media post.

The talks covered opportunities for greater collaboration in areas including sustainability, circularity, innovation, fashion and high-value textiles. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to deepening industry-to-industry linkages and developing resilient, sustainable and future-ready textile value chains.

Rao, accompanied by leading representatives of the Indian textile industry, also visited Première Vision Paris and Texworld Paris, two major international platforms for fabric, fashion and garment sourcing.

The Ministry said 75 Indian exhibitors showcased the country’s growing capabilities, diversity and strengths in the global textile sector at Texworld Paris.

The engagements are expected to further strengthen India’s ties with European textile and fashion stakeholders and create opportunities for greater collaboration in sustainable manufacturing, innovation and high-value textile products.
