Italian Textile Finishing Specialist Adopts Kornit Presto MAX

Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 integrates digital pigment printing technology to reduce water-intensive processes and support agile, on-demand textile production

Italian textile dyeing and finishing specialist Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 has integrated Kornit Digital’s Presto MAX into its production operations to expand its premium textile offering, improve manufacturing efficiency and meet growing demand for more sustainable and flexible fabric production.

Based in Biella, one of Italy’s established textile manufacturing districts, Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 has been operating since 1972. The family-owned company specialises in dyeing, finishing, printing and lamination, serving luxury fashion brands, textile manufacturers and fabric converters.

The industrial roll-to-roll Presto MAX uses pigment printing in a single-step process without conventional pre-treatment and post-treatment. According to Kornit Digital, the technology can reduce water and energy consumption as well as production time, while enabling on-demand production of printed fabrics.

Digital Transformation
For Tintoria Finissaggio 2000, the investment is part of a broader strategy to expand its textile processing capabilities and develop new products.

Dino Masso, Owner and CEO, Tintoria Finissaggio 2000, said the company’s approach is centred on “ennobling” fabrics through technology, creativity and technical expertise.

The company identified three priorities for its latest technology investment: developing innovative textile products, reducing water use in printing and creating greater flexibility for customised and shorter production runs.

“Presto MAX gave us a truly water-free digital printing solution while also providing the flexibility to serve a market that increasingly demands customised, agile production,” Masso said.

Focus on Pigment Printing
Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 also worked with Kornit Digital to develop fabrics using pigment printing that meet the quality requirements of premium and luxury textile applications.

According to the company, the resulting fabrics offer colour quality, softness and print definition while avoiding several conventional finishing stages.

“When we saw the first results, we were genuinely impressed. The quality, the hand feel and the appearance exceeded our expectations,” Masso said.

The elimination of washing, steaming and additional post-processing steps has also enabled the company to shorten production cycles and improve manufacturing responsiveness.

Supporting On-Demand Production
The Presto MAX is now integrated into Tintoria Finissaggio 2000’s manufacturing workflow, supporting product development and customised production for brands seeking greater flexibility and reduced resource consumption.

“We don’t see Presto MAX simply as a printing machine. It’s a platform that changes the way we serve the market,” Masso said.

The company sees digital textile printing as an increasingly important technology as the industry moves towards shorter production runs, demand-driven manufacturing and more resource-efficient supply chains.
